Founder & CEO
Marion Carrick is the vibrant, game-changing founder and CEO of The Localist.
A born and bred country girl who lives and breathes regional tourism, she launched The Localist in 2019.
Marion loves entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and innovation, and is always looking to solve market gaps. Recognising that travellers were craving more than a traditional regional tourism website the concept for The Localist was found – with a glass of Granite Belt sparkling Marsanne in hand!
She is the co-owner of Alure Stanthorpe and an authority on luxury accommodation experiences. Her mission is to promote and create high-vibe tourism and lifestyle brands while inspiring people to travel to rural and regional Australia.
Marion has well and truly traversed an array of industries, from working with global organisations such as Telstra and consulting to retailers such as Woolworths and Subway. A passionate horse rider, she also developed the leading show horse product, the Q Comb in 2006.
Marion lives in (and loves!) the Granite Belt with her son John and mother, Ruth.
